XS now offers a hand-polished brass bead; the convex face reflects more light than flat-faced factory or competitor offerings, allowing for the cleanest view and the best reflection of ambient light. Brass is less expensive and more durable than gold, and our bead is hand polished using Flitz polishing products with a light protective layer that will minimize oxidization. Brass does not replace trit on an EDC revolver; our retro classic brass front sights are optimized for range or field use. The XS Standard Dot Brass bead front sight harkens back to the classic hard use sights of the mid-20th century. Before fiber optics light pipes, before phosphorescent or photoluminescent paint, before trit, a gold or brass bead front sight was the original high visibility front sight. Brass is tough, durable, and is easily acquired in most lighting conditions. The XS Brass bead front sight takes the classic concept and adapts it to their Standard Dot front sight.
